Minimum wage rises in 14 states + DC in 2014

At any given time there is always more labor available than employers can employ so that will always depress wages; therefore like Sweden (or Switzerland I don't remember which it is) we need a government minimum living allowance payable to all people.  Then those that want to gain more can go work for whatever wages they are willing to agree with an employer - that's your fair market.  It's only fair when both sides are equal.  If a person doesn't have to work then the employer will have to pay them enough to make it worth their while.
