My guess is once everything is digitized than spying becomes even easier. Why does there have to be something wrong with copper analog networks? They work fine so what advantage is there to change the system? Digitizing only increases the amount of data that must flow over the network and what about availability during power outages? Or as some have said is this a backdoor to deregulation of common carrier status?
