75% of Americans tip less than 20% in most restaurants.  Some 11% tip nothing, 35% tip less than 10%, and 29% tip between 10% and 19%. Only 23% tip 20% or more.

While I usually do tip around 20% I was always taught that 15% was customary.  Of course with pressure on the oligarchs to share their money it makes sense to create propaganda that encourage the poor people to part with their hard earned money to make up that difference instead of paying better wages.

You may find yourself extremely surprised at what and who you're suppose to tip according to this little ditty.
